Paula Leigh Family Day Care was announced as the Regional Winner for Brisbane South in the 2019 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.
Paula Leigh, has been a Family Day Care Educator with Uniting Education since 2015 and was inspired to become an educator after having her two daughters.
Paula’s sister then asked if she would be open to looking after her children and the rest was history.
“I feel so privileged that I get to look after other people’s precious little ones and I am able to give them a home like environment to grow in. It’s amazing to see children learning and developing before my eyes and to be a part of their learning journey,” Paula says.
Paula enjoys teaching kids anything and everything, she encourages kids to take risks and to learn things for themselves.
“We love to be outside, to be moving and playing, to be investigating and creating. I play my guitar with the children most days, we eat together, cook, craft, build, play, design, fail, get up again, get dirty and wet and then changed to do it all over again,” she said.
“I want the kids to try new things, it’s the best way to learn. I’m always right there to support them along the way.”
