National Family Day Care Week is the perfect opportunity to check in with our Family Day Care educators and see the wonderful work they are doing caring for children in their homes.

The theme for National Family Day Care Week 2019 was ‘every child is a star’. It’s an important week to celebrate and recognise the important role that our Family Day Care educators play in the development and wellbeing of children in Queensland.

Bronwyn Davis from Windsor Family Day Care is one of our new Family Day Care educators. Bronwyn offers before and after school care, as well as during school. She has two children of her own, Andrew (5 years old) and Miriam (3 years old).

Bronwyn moved to Brisbane from Melbourne and was excited to begin her career in Family Day Care with Uniting Education Queensland. “It’s great that Uniting Education can offer support and guidance through the whole process and journey” Bronwyn says.

Bronwyn takes in total 6 children a day and encourages children to play in a natural environment, whether that’s playing outside, gardening or playing with wooden toys.

“We have lots of activities from painting, learning from the garden, stories and music.”

All of our Family Day Care educators hold or are working towards a certificate III qualification and also hold an approved first aid qualifications.

We would like to thank all of our educators for the time and effort that they put into their Family Day Care services.
