Uniting In Home
Child Care

No matter where you are, we’ve got you covered.

Traditional child care doesn’t fit for every family.

At Uniting In Home Child Care we help Queensland children learn, grow and flourish – from outback stations to city blocks.

If you have children and you:

  • are geographically Isolated
  • work non-standard work hours
  • are experiencing exceptional circumstances

…then you may be eligible for In Home Child Care.

Our educators provide education and care in the family home. They work closely with the parents of the children they look after to tailor programs to individual interests, talents and needs.

Our educators

  • Are responsive to children’s strengths, interests and social needs
  • Provide safety, support and a sense of belonging
  • Offer challenges to explore, solve problems, and enjoy
  • Work in partnerships with families and our coordinators
  • Commit to ongoing professional learning, development and well-being
  • Ensure record keeping is maintained in accordance with Family Assistance Law, In Home Care National Guidelines and National Handbook

Service Philosophy

Our service is dedicated to fostering collaborative relationships and a supportive, inclusive environment for children, families, and educators, respecting each family’s unique needs and circumstances. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and inspired by the Uniting Church values, we prioritise community, continuity of care, and holistic development, empowering every child to reach their full potential.

Why families love Uniting In Home Child Care

Our dedicated educators design and implement programs that cater to the unique needs, interests and personalities of each child. By fostering close collaboration with families and caregivers, the educators are able to ensure that their programs are holistic and personalised.

Our team of long-term coordinators are dedicated to supporting educators to provide quality care for the unique needs of their families. The coordinators support and mentor educators with their study, professional development and wellbeing. Ensuring our Educators have the skills and knowledge required, ensures that families aren’t missing out on quality childcare.

We are proud to offer resource libraries in Brisbane, providing educators with convenient access to a wide range of essential items. These libraries are stocked with car restraints, cots, and a variety of educational materials, ensuring that our educators have the tools they need to support the safety, comfort, and learning of the children in their care.

We recognise that for children accessing In Home Care they may have minimal social interactions, to counteract this we are delighted to be able to offer play sessions for our Brisbane based In Home Care children, and for our rural families these are accessible via Zoom. These sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for children, caregivers, and educators to engage in interactive and collaborative play, fostering strong relationships and a sense of community.

We pride ourselves in the relationships we have with families and educators across IHC. This comes from having face-to-face conversations and connections. Location is no barrier: wherever a car, plane or ferry can get us, we will visit!
